Located at the end of a row of historic terraces in Campbell Street Glebe and sandwiched next to a Telstra exchange building the 3.6 metres wide X 23 metres long block was formerly a council owned laneway. Nordon Jago Architects were commissioned to design a functional, contemporary, large family home.
The result is a three-level, 146 square metre four bedroom, two bathroom terrace house. The upper levels step back from the street and give maximum exposure to the stunning panoramic views of the city.
The construction is straightforward concrete slab with core-filled concrete block to maximize the interior room sizes and quality finishes including stone tiles on the ground floor living areas, glass balustrades and contemporary kitchen and bathrooms. Despite the location in an historic precinct, in keeping with our times, the residence has a minimalist aesthetic that fits well within its context.
