PROJECT

Hurstville Medica Centre

DESCRIPTION

Multi-disciplinary Medical Facility

BUILDING AMENITIES   12,000sqm Day Surgery + Consulting Suites

The Hurstville Medica Centre offers an opportunity to regenerate an important gateway site on the fringes of Hurstville CBD, whilst also providing a vibrant element of townscape serving as both a focal attraction and facility for the local residents and visitors to the area.

The development comprises a surgery centre (including 6 operating theatres and associated services), medical suites and retail facilities. The principal building mass is divided by a light well, allowing natural daylight into the centre of the building plan and breaking up each of the long elevations. The two parts of the building are connected by a glazed walkway and have balconies at each level with landscaped planter beams.

The main facades of the building are protected by a mix of operable and fixed louvres. The louvre planes interact effectively with the main podium terracotta cladding, the principal building setbacks and the glazed corner elements in order to modulate and unify the building façades. The layered facades result in dynamic and active elevations which will create articulated light patterns across the facade, allowing its appearance to evolve over the course of the day .
