13 - 15 Collins Street Annandale was originally speculatively constructed as two gentleman's residences in the 1870's. It has an unusual mirror image format and was built in Victorian Italianate style. The building was used as a post office shortly after its construction and was also used as a confectionary factory during the mid twentieth century before being converted to flats.
The project encompassed the restoration of the main dwellings and their conversion to four apartments. The rear service wings which had been heavily modified and augmented with a series of ramshackle outhouses were demolished and re-constructed as four apartments that face an internal courtyard.
